The primary role of the weatherization program is to improve the comfort level and reduce energy costs of low-income families through making minor repairs to the home by reducing air infiltration and heat loss.
The Section 8 rental assistance program is designed to give assistance to very low income families, providing them the opportunity to live in decent, safe and sanitary housing at an affordable cost. Participants pay a percentage of their adjusted monthly income towards the rent, and the program pays the balance to the property owner.
